Scenarios of the work flow of the DLTD
The flow chart given in Fig.(1) explains the work flow regarding the development of the new system namely DLTD. In summary:
i) Each postgraduate students at Helwan University campus will use a home computer or a computer at the lab to submit his or her electronic document of thesis or dissertation based on PDF or SGML format.
ii) The student from any available location will go to a well-known URL specially for DLTD at Helwan University and follow the links.
iii) First, postgraduate students will provide an ID and password that authenticates them. Next they will enter in metadata about their DTD. When this is checked, they will use their browser to locate each of the files that make up the DTD, so uploading can be proceed and eventually the entire DLTD will be uploaded.
iv) When the postgraduates department find that a new DTD file has been uploaded, it is reviewed for errors in formatting. If the DTD passes publishing quality requirement, the library catalogues the DLTD and places it on electronic bookshelf for DLTD which supports flexible browsing.
v) Using search engines, library patrons can use the online catalogue to locate DLTD and use the given URL address to go to the web DLTD resource. Patrons can then down-load them to their own computers or to the library workstations and view them or print them, as desired.
