DLTD integrates a number of different products into a solution that enables the development of comprehensive Web sites for internet presence.

Time required for this activity : 24 months

Description
This activity will be assigned to develop a unique DLTD system at the Egyptian Universities. The ultimate goal of the implementing team is to teach and train well the postgraduate students at Helwan University so that they can create and put their final work of thesis and dissertations into electronic format using one or all of the following world wide documentation techniques [5, 6]:

- The portable document format (PDF)
- The ISO’s standard generalized markup language (SGML)
- The normal hyper text markup language (HTML format)

That means the team of this project have to:
1- Develop an SGML-based system that can easily be used.
2- Implement search delivery technology so that documents are archived without library staff having to make manual entries, and so users can search and copy
3- Prepare documentation, teaching and training materials for this approach to be used by all students, staff members at Helwan or other universities.

The team assures that there is no such system or services available at any of the Egyptian Universities or Egyptian research centers. Some elementary systems exist at some academic establishments and became obsolete world wide and almost demolished now. In addition, the process is not either secured or intellectually protected and no such systems is currently in use among the international university community.
World wide University libraries are based on real digital library scheme that is well secured, well protected, produced in the ISO’s standard mark up language electronic format, and easily accessed on line.
